Adventure Playground Open for Summer - Newport Mesa Moms

We are always on the lookout for fun things to do with the kids during the summer, with bonus points for it being outdoors and something that won’t break the bank.  Enter Adventure Playground at Huntington Central Park, open this summer from June 21, 2025 to August 16, 2025.

Pack a lunch, load up on sunscreen and head to the park to enjoy a “mudslide”, crossing a rope bridge, rafting on a small pond, and building forts with large blocks for only $4 per child (adults and teens 16 and older are free when accompanying a child).

Located in Central Park near the library at 7111 Talbert Avenue in Huntington Beach, you can enter Adventure Playground from the Central Library parking lot.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:

  • All visitors, including adults, must wear closed-toe shoes at all time, no sandals allowed.  Water shoes, crocs, natives, and other water friendly shoes, as long as the shoes have a hard bottom and do not come off easily are considered acceptable.
  • Kids will get wet (and dirty), so think about bringing a towel and change of clothes.
  • There is no guarantee of entry without a reservation, although if space is available, you may register in person and pay with cash or card at the gate.
  • To avoid being turned away because of capacity, look into registering ahead of time at www.hbsands.org (use the search bar on the left to find Adventure Playground).  Payments can be made online.  **Highly suggest registering ahead.
  • Adventure Playground is open Monday – Saturday from 10am to 4pm (with play ending at 3:40pm for clean-up).
