Earth Day at The Bay | Newport Mesa Moms

With Earth Day and Easter occurring within one day of each other this year, I am sure your weekend is looking a little busy.  But if you have time, you should definitely take the kids over to the Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center for their Earth Day at The Bay Celebration on Saturday, April 20th.  From 10am to 4pm, you and the kiddos can learn about the environment, conservation, sustainability, and more through various interactive exhibits and booths.  There is even a scavenger hunt with small prizes for the kids, and entry into a larger prize drawing.  Last year we won an amazing book on the Birds of North America.

With live music and food trucks on site, there is a great festive atmosphere.  We particularly loved visiting the hawks and owls from the OC Bird of Prey Center last year, and I was in awe of the beautiful bald eagle that I couldn’t believe was sitting right in front of me.

While the event is FREE, you may wish to bring some cash for the food trucks or to enter the opportunity drawing where all proceeds benefit the Newport Bay Conservancy.
