It may be October, but not all skeletons are for haunting. On Friday, October 19, 2018, Orange Coast College is holding their Annual Community Science Night from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. My husband and I took the kids last year, not knowing if the stuff would be over their heads, but it wasn’t. OCC put together a great kid-friendly event with lots of “hand-on/interactive” opportunities to learn and experience including:
- Robots on Parade
- Stargazing with High Powered Telescopes
- Crawly Creatures from the Sea
- Bones & Skeletons
- Airplanes and Helicopters
- Volcanic Rocks
- Dinosaur Skeletons
Our favorites from last year included a ride in the dentist chair, looking at x-rays, playing with magnets, using microscopes, observing animals from the sea, and watching the big “volcanic” explosion. And yes, I did jump! We weren’t able to see the stars due to some non-cooperating weather, but look forward to getting another chance!
This event is completely FREE (including the snacks and refreshments).
