As moms, our main priorities are keeping our kids safe and healthy. Yet, one in 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer by the time they are 20 years old. Childhood cancer doesn’t only affect the child, it affects the entire family and the extended community. The Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is on a mission to change the lives of children with cancer through funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families, and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer.
Join Us This September for The Million Mile Challenge
September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout the month, we are turning awareness into action through a virtual race, The Million Mile Challenge.
Who: Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is celebrating their 6th year of The Million Mile challenge
What: Our goal is to collectively walk, run or ride a million miles during September, and raise awareness and $1 million dollars to fund pediatric cancer research.
When: September 1-30, 2018 (but you can start or participate any day throughout the month!)
Where: This is a virtual race, so anyone, anywhere can participate – you simply have to log the miles for your team on our website!
Whether you’re a casual walker or jogger, or an avid cyclist or marathoner, you can make a difference in the lives of children fighting cancer by walking, running, or cycling, and donating your miles to The Million Mile challenge. Yes, miles walked on a treadmill, stationary bike and elliptical machine count too!
While financial contributions and sponsorships are appreciated and welcomed, you don’t have to donate money to participate – we are simply asking to activate your family, friends, and followers to register and log the miles they would naturally walk, run, or bike on our website.
