Every wonder how the Newport Beach Public Library is able to host and provide so many spectacular events, crafts, reading programs and those Sunday Musicales? It is in large part due to the efforts of The Friends of the Library. Founded in 1957 by a small group of volunteers, The Friends of the Newport Beach Public Library is a nonprofit organization that operates a used bookstore inside the Central Library Branch. The money raised by book sales is then used to supplement the Library’s budget for special projects, programs and activities.
On Tuesday, November 7th from 4-5pm, the Crean Mariners Branch Library will host a hands-on workshop introducing kids to simple computer coding techniques, made possible by The Friends of the Library. This workshop is designed for kids between the ages of 6 & 12, however, children must be accompanied by an adult so you might end up learning something yourself. No registration required.
Be sure to check out NewportMesaMoms.com CALENDAR on a regular basis to see what great library activities are coming up next.
