This past weekend we went to check out the Taylor Swift Laser show at the OCC Planetarium and it didn’t disappoint. While my kids had no idea what to expect, they came out of the show wanting to see more. While some of this might be because of the Taylor Swift effect (anything T. Swift related = gold), the laser show aspect was lots of fun and mesmerizing. Admittedly, my favorite part was when the audience would break out into song right along with Taylor Swift.
The Laserdome has a large library of shows that they circle through. You can check out some of the options on their website here, Beyonce and The Beatles probably being among some of the more popular ones. If you head over to their ticketing section, you will see the actual show options currently being offered, along with other events that the Planetarium offers. Taylor Swift: Party Playlist is scheduled for June 8th, BTW.
With tickets costing $17 and most shows running about 40 – 50 minutes, the Laserdome experience is a great option when you are wanting to do something “different” with the kids or on a date night. While at the Planetarium, be sure to check out the lobby. Foucault’s Pendulum is a favorite of ours.
**The Laser show may be a little overwhelming for young children or those sensitive to light or sound.
If the Planetarium interests you, I highly suggest signing up for their newsletter. I was able to get my Laser Taylor Swift tickets on presale that way, and you’ll be the first to know when a new experience pops up (but we’ll do our best to share with you too so be sure to follow us on Instagram @newportmesamoms)!
