Pave the Road to Hope with Project Hope Alliance - Newport Mesa Moms

Last week Michelle and I took our kids to meet Vanessa, the Community Engagement Coordinator for Project Hope Alliance.  She told us that over the last year, Project Hope Alliance has not only served more kids and youth experiencing homelessness than before, but that they now have cities and school districts asking them to come in and help. In fact, The Newport-Mesa Unified School District has given them a new list of 200 youth experiencing homelessness in our district alone that they want them to enroll in their programs.

Skipping their annual fundraising gala, and foregoing a virtual event this year, Project Hope Alliance has decided to focus their fundraising efforts on enrolling all the kids that are currently on their waitlist. That’s where we come in, and it is the PERFECT way to get your kids involved too.

  1. Visit the Project Hope Alliance website and make a donation of $50 for a Box of Hope (this donation goes towards enrolling homeless youth in the PHA programs).
  2. Pick up your box(es) from PHA at 1954 Placentia Ave, Suite 202, Costa Mesa, CA 92648.  You can stop by anytime Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.
  3. Decorate the box.  Make it colorful.  Share your love.
  4. Decide who your box is for.  You can make a box for a boy or girl, ranging from Kindergarten to seniors in high school.
  5. Fill your box with goodies such as:
    • Masks
    • Hand Sanitizer
    • Beach Towel
    • Sunglasses
    • Chapstick
    • Reusable Water Bottle
    • Snacks
    • Hygiene Items
    • Personal Care Items
    • School Supplies
    • Art Supplies
    • Small Toys
    • Craft Supplies
    • Gift cards (please include in an envelope and let PHA know)
6. Bring your filled box back to Project Hope Alliance between now and June.
