Reach for the Stars at OCC’s New Planetarium | Newport Mesa Moms

Orange Coast College’s Planetarium is opening to the public March 23rd and will likely become the newest hot spot for family fun, school field trips and those entranced by the universe.  I am eagerly awaiting my turn to check out the state-of-the art Dome Theatre with seating for 125 people, and their current shows:  Explore (best for ages 10 and up), and Earth, Moon & Sky (recommended for ages 6-12).  Tickets can be purchased online or in person ($6 for adults; $5 for seniors and children under 12; free for members and OCC students).

The lobby and exhibit hall are FREE to visit during normal operating hours, and boast permanent exhibits like the Foucault Pendulum (the first of its kind in Orange County) and Science on a Sphere, as well as rotating exhibits (Meteorites:  Messengers of Mayhem is currently under construction).
