Estancia Production Drama and Newport Harbor Drama have teamed up to bring you Shrek the Musical this February at Newport Harbor High School’s Robert B. Wentz Theater.
Featuring students from Estancia, Newport Harbor and Corona Del Mar High Schools, Shrek the Musical, adapted from the Oscar-winning film and critically acclaimed book, brings the story of the reclusive ogre to the stage. With the assistance of his ‘noble steed’ Donkey, Shrek embarks on a quest to rescue feisty red-headed princess Fiona from a dragon-guarded tower. Along the way, he runs into iconic and beloved fairytale creatures who rebel against the evil, scheming Lord Farquaad. Through this crazy fun-filled journey, the unorthodox ogre finally finds his true love, and learns the importance of self-acceptance.
Shrek the Musical provides fun for the whole family. With three evening performances and one matinee, it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy the theater with your kids, and support the kids AND schools in your community at the same time.
