Spring Break Dreaming: Palm Beach | Newport Mesa Moms

Dreaming of a Spring Break in Florida? Use our Local Moms’ recs for Palm Beach (below), the Florida Keys, and Naples. We have all the essential details straight from our experts on the ground, from where to stay to what to do. These are the must-dos in Palm Beach, according to the Palm Beach Moms.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Located on the east coast of Florida, north of Miami, Palm Beach has 47 miles of coastlines for snorkeling, sandcastles and more for families. Known for its luxe hotels, spas and restaurants, it also has a ton of activities to entertain kids of all ages, from water parks to marine life exhibits.

STAY

The Breakers, Palm Beach—this is the creme de la creme. This iconic ocean front paradise offers everything from kids club to fine dining, walking distance to fun activities…but you do not have to leave the compound for a week well spent either. It has several pools, a great beach, golf, tennis, playground, shopping, spa. The Colony, Palm Beach oozes charm. You will feel like you slipped back in time in the best way.  Enjoy lazy yet civilized meals by the pool while the kids play yard games.  The Colony is located right in the heart of Palm Beach so borrow their bikes and enjoy all the island has to offer. The Marriott Singer Island is a nice beach front option with the amenities of a hotel but the comfort of a condo.  Enjoy your day on the beach, at the pool (with a super fun slide) or let the kids enjoy the kids club and you retire to your room with full kitchen and laundry. The Boca Resort is a destination steeped in history offering every modern amenity.  The restaurants, spa and kids’ club are all top notch.

DO

Beach (or pool)!  Pack your sunscreen and have some fun in the sun! For a fun day in Jupiter visit the Loggerhead Marine Life Center (you can adopt your own rescued sea turtles!), then climb the Jupiter Lighthouse. Take a lunch break at Guanabanas, then play a round of mini golf at Lighthouse Cove.  Conquer the Palm Beach bike trail. Be sure to rent your bikes from the Palm Beach Bike Shop at the Royal Poinciana place; they have every kind of pink you can imagine. Then fill your water bottle and grab some snacks from Celis produce and hit the trail. Work up an appetite for Coyo Taco when you turn those bikes in.  If you want a bigger adventure, head west to Gatorama to hold a baby gator and check out the Everglades.  Enjoy the Palm Beach Zoo, Lion Country Safari, or hop on the Brightline Train and do a day in Ft Lauderdale (you can walk to the Children’s Science Museum) or take it to Miami for endless possibilities.

EAT

The Italian Restaurant at the Breakers because they have a playroom, game room, and a playground. You just won at dinner! Other recommendations: Lighthouse Cove Mini Golf restaurant, The Colony poolside brunch (with lawn games for kids of all ages), Coyo Taco (eat on the patio or order a picnic to go), Grato in West Palm Beach (family friendly Italian, including an amazing mushroom pizza), the Cafe at the Norton Museum is surprisingly delightful, and Anzo and Bolay (both family-friendly fast casual with healthy options).
