StonyFIELDS Initiative Brings You The TeWinkle Park Field Day - Newport Mesa Moms

We take our kids outside, tell them to exercise, and try to feed them healthy and organic foods whenever possible.  But oftentimes we forget about what has been sprayed all over the grass our kids are rolling around on, or what is on the flowers they are picking.  That’s why I was super excited to hear about the TeWinkle Park Field Day that is taking place Saturday, March 30th from 10am to 1pm, and is brought to you by the StonyFIELDS Initiative and Non Toxic Neighborhoods.

Stonyfield, the company behind that delicious yogurt you most likely have in your fridge right now, is “thrilled to see the work Non Toxic Neighborhoods and the City of Costa Mesa have already done [Luke Davis Field was the site of a successful organic maintenance pilot program in 2014], and we are honored to be part of this next phase towards healthier parks and fields! As part of our StonyFIELDS program, we have made a donation to the City of Costa Mesa to help fund the implementation of an organic field maintenance plan for both Luke Davis Field and TeWinkle Park. Stonyfield is committed to work alongside Non Toxic Neighborhoods for the next three years to ensure Costa Mesa is a place where everyone is free to play in a safer park!”  StonyFIELDS PlayFree

In celebration of this move towards a healthier neighborhood, Stonyfield Organic and Non Toxic Neighborhoods are hosting the above mentioned Field Day with live music, crafts, organic yogurt, and information on how we can help make all our parks safe for our children.  Be sure to stop by.  We are in this together.  #playfree
