Do your kids love all things nature? The Newport Beach Public Library Foundation is hosting a three part Nature Series at the Central Library Branch during the month of March.
Each program is FREE (but there is a $10 suggested donation at the door) and REGISTRATION is REQUIRED. You do not have to attend all three – pick what you like best, or what fits your schedule! You can register by calling 949-548-2411 or visiting www.nbplfoundation.org.
All programs will be held in the Central Library Friends Room located at 1000 Avocado Avenue, Newport Beach.
The line-up is as follows:
SUNDAY, MARCH 4 from 2:00 – 3:30pm
Naturally Native with the Environmental Nature Center: Predators such as wolves, coyotes, and birds of prey depend on food webs. The ENC will show you how these animals play an important role in keeping our environment healthy. The program will come alive with a visit from some local animals that play a key role in the food web.
SUNDAY, MARCH 11 from 2:00 – 3:30 pm
Wolves and Coyotes, presented by Wolf Haven: Coyotes live right here among us, but have you ever wondered what their place is in our world? Wolf Haven, a wolf sanctuary located in Washington State, will talk about wolves, coyotes and the important role they play in our environment as well as share stories and pictures about the wolves that live at their sanctuary.
SUNDAY, MARCH 18 from 2:00 – 3:30 pm
Birds of Prey In Our Neighborhood, presented by Orange County Bird of Prey Center: This program will focus on some of the feathered predators that we see every day. Led by both human and feathered creatures, the Orange County Bird of Prey Center will be bringing along some of its bird ambassadors to visit with you.
