Summertime (or just plain mom life) often means being on-the-go. Whether you are traveling or just out all day having fun, the kids are going to want snacks. And while I applaud those of you who bring fresh fruit and vegetables (pre-cut and stored in a nice container) with you, I find myself struggling to keep that going. In an effort to stray from the granola bar and goldfish demands, I love bringing these two snacks with me when we are running out the door:
Organic seaweed, roasted with olive oil and a touch of salt, make this a tasty, healthy treat I feel good about feeding my kids. I love that there are only three ingredients, and that olive oil is used instead of canola oil. I had been getting the snack packs at Sprouts until I found that Whole Foods Market carries a much larger selection of snack pack sizes, including large sheets.
Freeze-dried fuji apple (approx. 1/2 cup of apple per bag). One ingredient. No additives or preservatives. Need I say more? While I am partial to the apple version, other options include Asian Pear, Banana, Cantaloupe, Mango, Pineapple and Tangerine. Available at Whole Foods Market.
