Halloween is almost here.  If you are feeling overwhelmed by all the awesome activities that are available to you, here is a list of LOCAL events sorted by day so that you skip the headache and go straight to the fun.

Halloween Crafts at the Mariners Branch Library

Stop by the library at 4pm for spooky Halloween Crafts for children ages 3-8.  FREE

Creepy Crafts at the Balboa Branch Library

Celebrate Halloween at 3:30pm with creepy (but not too scary) crafts for kids ages 5-8.  FREE

Ghostly Crafts at the Corona del Mar Branch Library

Drop by the library at 3:00pm for jack-o-lanterns and friendly ghost crafts.  Ages 3-8.  FREE

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28th

Trick-or-Treat Parade and Craft at Michaels

From 10am – 12 noon, kids can make a Disney Junior Vampirina treat bag at Kids Club ($2 fee) and then join in on a trick-or-treat parade.  Don’t forget to wear your costume.  Free face painting.  Recommended age 3 and above.  Space may be limited so call ahead if you have your heart set on this event.

Halloween Spooktacular at Grant Howald Park

This FREE event goes on from 4 – 7 pm and features A Trunk or Treat, 2 Haunted Mazes, Games, Pumpkin Craft, Bounce Houses, Food Trucks, Costume Prizes and MORE!  This is the City of Newport Beach’s 1st Spooktacular so check it out to make sure it becomes an annual event!

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29th

Trick-or-Treat Festival at the OC Market Place

This FREE event goes on from 9am – 2pm but only the first 500 kids to check in will receive a special prize so get there early.  Costumes are encouraged for trick-or-treating around the Market Place.  Stilt walkers, puppet shows and face painting are sure to delight.  Park in Gates 2 or 10 for free parking.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 30th

Children’s Halloween Festival at Rogers Garden

This FREE event starts at 4pm with interactive crafts and activities followed by a trick-or-treating costume parade throughout the Gardens.  Don’t forget your camera!

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 31st

Tricks for Treats Preschool Halloween Bash at Team OC

Bring your Ghosts and Goblins ages 2 to 5 to this Halloween Bash at the gymnastics center.  From 1pm-2pm kids can experience the zip line, run through the obstacle course and join in on the costume parade.  Space is limited so you must reserve a spot (714-444-1144).  Cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members.

Halloween Extravaganza at the Central Library Branch

This FREE event goes from 4pm-5:30pm and includes not-so-scary stories, Halloween crafts, yummy treats and of course trick-or-treating around the library.  Make sure you wear your costume.
